Charu Shoes started in 1993. Raman's father, L K Chanana, was a bank employee who had wanted to run his own business. His mother, Raj Chanana, helped set the shop up and grow it. Raman joined in 2004, after his MBA. By then the shop already had more than a decade of standing in the community.
The detail Raman mentions most: customers who first came in are now bringing their children. Not because of advertising. Because the shop has been in the same place, holding the same standard, since 1993.
